PlayDraft
Take the best mechanic in fantasy sports and point it at everything else. Snacks. Movies. Super powers. Whatever your group argues about.
Not on the App Store yet. PlayDraft is in TestFlight while we finish the season-one build.
The idea
Draft anything.
Settle the debate.
Everybody has the argument. Best pizza topping. Greatest sitcom. Who'd actually win with invisibility. PlayDraft turns it into a real draft. On the clock, snake order, no take-backs. Then it hands down a verdict before anyone loses interest.
No season commitment. No fantasy-football spreadsheet. One draft, one sitting, one champion.
How a draft plays
Four steps from "I've got a take" to a share card in the group chat.
-
Pick a pack
Choose a DraftPack: Snacks, Movies, GOAT Athletes, Recess Games. Or write your own topic from scratch.
-
Set the rules
Field size, roster size, snake order, pick clock. Start now or schedule it for the weekend.
-
Draft on the clock
Snake-order picks off a live board. Search the pack, queue your targets, and steal before someone else does.
-
Crown a champion
The board fills and the strongest roster is crowned instantly. Then you share it and the real argument starts.
Four ways to run it
Same draft, different stakes. Whoever opens the room covers it, and everyone you invite drafts free.
-
Standard
3–8 players · DefaultThe everyday draft. Build a roster, and the winning board is decided by the Confidence Pool: the live pick-rate data behind every item in the pack. The result lands the second the board fills.
Winning pays DraftCoins, and a win always covers your next ticket.
-
Casual
3–8 players · No winnerFor when a scoreboard would ruin it. Nobody gets declared the winner. The boards go out to the group and a Settle It poll lets everyone weigh in on who drafted it best. Two, eight, or twenty-four hours on the clock.
-
Competitive
10 players · RankedA fixed ten-team field that auto-starts the moment the room fills. Six categories plus two flex picks, every time. Podium finishes score season points, and where you land across the season sets your rank.
Capped at twenty ranked drafts a season, so nobody grinds their way to the top.
-
Custom Draft
3–8 players · You author itNo pack, no list, no limits. Name the topic, and every single pick is a free-text write-in. Duplicates get blocked, so once someone takes it, it's gone. This is where the genuinely unhinged drafts happen.
Set the rules
The host tunes the draft before anyone picks. Everything here is a real setting in the app.
Twelve packs at launch
Every pack is free. There's nothing to unlock and nothing to buy. Each one is hand-sorted into categories so a Category Draft actually holds together.

Scary Movies wakes up every October. More packs land as the seasons roll. Packs built around real people are unofficial fan packs, free forever, and not affiliated with anyone in them.
DraftLab, for the days nobody's around
A solo arcade of drafting mini-games. It's the practice range, and every round you play sharpens the data that crowns real drafts.
-
Daily Draft
One board a dayEveryone in the world gets the identical board, and you get exactly one attempt. That's what makes the scores worth comparing. Ends in a crowd reveal showing how your picks stacked up against everybody else's.
-
QuickDraft
10 seconds a pickDraft a mini team: one from every category, plus a flex. Ten seconds on each pick and the board drafts for you when the clock hits zero.
-
LightningDraft
60-second raceBest of four options, over and over, before the spark fades. As many rounds as you can clear in a minute.
-
SearchDraft
Typed recallThere's no list and no suggestions. You just name what comes to mind first, and every accepted answer buys you five more seconds.
How the champion is crowned
The board decides.
Not the loudest friend.
Every finished draft gets an instant, explainable winner. Rosters are scored against the Confidence Pool: pick-rate data trained by everyone playing DraftLab. The verdict lands in seconds and you can see exactly why.
The reveal tells you which of your picks the crowd agreed with and which ones nobody else would have touched. Taking the obvious best thing is safe. Taking the thing only you believe in is how you actually win.
A reason to come back
Play, level, prestige. Ninety-day seasons with a real finish line.
-
Levels & tiers
Rookie → Hall of FameDaily challenges pay XP, levels pay DraftCoins. Climb from Rookie through Bench, Starter, Captain and GM to Hall of Fame, each in three grades. Milestone levels hand out free tickets.
-
Prestige
Five ring finishesHit the season cap and prestige: your level resets, but your avatar ring upgrades through Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Mythic. It's the only thing in the app you can't buy.
-
Season standings
90 daysCompetitive drafts score podium points across the season. Finish enough of them and you land Bronze, Silver or Gold. Then it wipes and everyone starts level.
-
Achievements
Badge caseFirst Win, Draft Champion, Vote Master, Crowd Favorite, Pack Legend. They reveal as you go and live on your profile where your friends can see them.
